Ghost Who Dreams

I’m a ghost who dreams of flesh and blood
I don’t talk to no one, no one talks to me
Driving in silence and in the headlights
The evidence of things unseen
Down long corridors and passageways
Not exactly failure but not success
Long stretches of road I don’t recall
And all I had to do was just say yes

I lay in bed and watched her dress
The light was beautiful on her face
Others she’d rescue but not herself
No, her, herself she could not save
Yeah, the morning was cold it made things clear
It’s a law of nature nothing stays the same
Well, I guess we should get on with it
No hard feelings, Ok?

So I drank until I could barely stand
And then I scaled the fence
After a while you stop asking questions
Nothing’s making any sense
Banging trash can lids on cobblestones
We shall not be moved, not now, not ever
I walked to the corner of West Broadway
And disappeared into never

I’m a ghost who dreams of flesh and blood
I don’t talk to no one, no one talks to me
Driving in silence and in the headlights
The evidence of things unseen
